These are some pictures from our trip to Patagonia in November 2006. We spent most of our time dayhiking in two main national parks in Chile and Argentina that contain some of Patagonia's best glacial scenery. We also climbed and skied a volcano in Chile's Lakes District.
Cerro Torre in Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina. This is one of the most famous (and most difficult) rock walls in the world. It was considered impossible to climb intil 1970's. Patagonian climate makes it particularly inhospitable, as violent storms can engulf the mountain in less than an hour. it is also the most difficult mountain to see in the park, it can stay engulfed in clouds for weeks.
